Atrium Health Atrium Health Revenue Management Coding Specialist FT in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Summary

Charge audit functions with Atrium Epic facilities for Revenue Integrity and the development of coding and charge capture procedures for outpatient services to optimize revenue generation, maintain compliance with third party payor requirements and generate management reports.

Essential Functions

Monitors workqueues and accounts for charge compliancy.

Reviews and studies all information from third-party payors on claims filing, coding, and the adjudication process.

Studies, reports, and makes recommendations regarding charge concerns.

Works with coding personnel to ensure that codes on accounts are accurate and current.

Works with Information Systems personnel to make certain Epic Workflows are up to date with charging needs.

Analyzes revenue and reimbursement data to maximize financial improvement opportunities.

Assist in the maintenance of charge capture programs.

Physical Requirements

May Lift and move reports and notebooks weighing up to ten pounds. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Majority of day is spent sitting.

Education, Experience and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED required. CPC or CCS certification required. Experience with or exposure to Epic/Encompass billing system and auditing.
