Job Description
The Risk Technology Production and Application Support Team is looking to fill a valuable position to ensure we can continue our growth as the demands on our team expand. The Application System Administrator will have responsibilities involving management of the infrastructure behind U.S. Bank’s Enterprise Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) technology functions.
The right candidate has a self-driven, “read between the lines” mentality and can operate with limited oversight over their daily tasks with full support from teammates and management to complete said tasks successfully. This role involves support for SQL Server infrastructure, software applications, and end users. The right candidate will be a key participant in our department’s mission, goals, and business partner relationships.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
Assisting the RTS owned Application Technical Owners (TOs) for the Archer GRC platforms, Vault Data Warehouse, SentryOne, Databridge, and Risk Portal in the following areas:
Point of contact between Risk Technology Services and Technology and Operations Services business lines
Point of contact between US Bank and third-party application vendor teams
Ensure ongoing monitoring and successful installation of software patching as needed
Day to day performance monitoring of systems’ health
Alternating on-call schedules for ServiceNow incident ticket ownership including after-hours and weekend support when needed
Work with TOs to create documentable procedures and processes for auditors
SQL Server, database, and application administration
Disaster Recovery coordination, including facilitation of quarterly business continuity exercises
Change, incident, problem, and service management ticket handling in ServiceNow
Intrateam coordination and communication to ensure KPIs are strived for and met
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
Five or more years of experience in application development
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting the Archer application and infrastructure highly preferred
At Least 2 years of SQL Server database administration experience preferred
Always On High Availability experience preferred in an on prem or Microsoft Azure cloud-based server infrastructure
Experience supporting application infrastructure
Microsoft patching
Performance monitoring
Capacity analysis and forecasting
Maintaining OLAs
ETL support
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python or similar)
Understanding of various coding methods and computer languages
Ability to read and write T-SQL queries
Experience with Web Server/IIS Support
Ability to think through easy to complex tasks in a manner that creates pragmatic solutions to everyday problems
Advanced interpersonal verbal and written communication skills in a professional environment
Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and management
Experience responding to audit requests in a highly regulated environment
Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow along with ITIL Service, incident, and Change/release management
Knowledge of ServiceNow’s architectural styles and design patterns
JavaScript experience a plus
Working knowledge of Agile development practices
Working knowledge of SDLC
Well-developed problem-solving skills
Immaculate attention to detail
This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $90,100.00 - $106,000.00 - $116,600.00
