Ally Analyst II - Data Analytics in Charlotte, North Carolina

Position Description The mission of Global Compliance and Regulatory Affairs is to drive the compliance with laws, regulations and company policies set forth by federal regulators and stakeholders. Ally's compliance environment was born upon becoming a Bank Holding Company, underwent a large-scale build-out and is currently enhancing and streamlining a sustainable program. The group has grown to nearly twenty-times its original size and will continue to grow exponentially to meet the demands of our banking environment. This position is part of the Solution Support and Delivery function of Ally’s Financial Crime Compliance organization that creates and delivers actionable business intelligence. Through dynamic dashboards, cadenced reporting, and ad hoc requests, this Data Analyst II will assist the organization by delivering valuable insights that enable robust management and oversight over Financial Crimes Compliance processes to appropriately manage compliance and regulatory risk. We are looking for a team member with excellent communication skills, with a background in technology, business intelligence, and strong logic and problem solving. This team member will support growing business intelligence capabilities and metrics and reporting needs across Financial Crimes Compliance. Partner with the Enterprise Sanctions, AML Investigations, Enhanced Due Diligence, the AML Program team, and Enterprise Technology in ensuring that the day-to-day operations supporting AML processes are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, in addition to company policies and procedures. Job Responsibilities * Responsible for day-to-day activities within AML Operations and Analytics, specifically supporting Solutions Support and Delivery team. * Responsible for the design, development, and support of business intelligence solutions to meet reporting and analytic needs from our Financial Crimes Compliance partners * Implement robust, reliable, and custom reporting and visualizations using BI tools (e.g Power BI, Excel, etc.) * Enhance existing dashboards and reports, and respond to ad hoc requests * Develop and maintain self-service reporting solutions and/or automated solutions * Use SQL as main tool for data preparation: extracting, cleansing, aggregation, and summarizing data to create meaningful visualizations * Navigate, understand, and leverage existing complex data structures for reporting * Monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues proactively * Experience in designing and implementing custom reporting and visualizations using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Cognos) * Create, manage, and utilize high performance relational databases (SAS, SQL Server, Oracle SQL Developer) * Provide analytical detail and narrative of findings to leadership * Onboard new products onto the AML Analytics and Operations reporting platforms, including data quality and analysis * Ensures day-to-day operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements and the organization's policy * Assists AML Solutions Support and Delivery Manager * Uses judgment, creativity and sound technical and analytical knowledge to develop and recommend solutions relating to company policies and standard practices * Prepares documentation for regulatory agencies as well as internal audit and testing teams * Perform ad-hoc reporting for other AML functions * Miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications * Education level: Minimum - Bachelors' Degree * Major field of study: Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or related major * Total years and type of prior related experience:1+ years in banking/finance industry or data analytics * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to work well with others * Ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple duties * Possess independent analytical skills * Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment * Proficient in PowerBI, Python, SQL, SAS * Strong technical knowledge and/or skills for area of expertise and knowledge of Data Analytics reporting and management * General knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC requirements preferred * Complex problem-solving skills Ally Overview Ally Financial Inc.
