Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is to provide sales support to wholesalers and financial advisors selling Equitable 401(K) products. In partnership with the external wholesaler, the inside wholesaler is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with selling advisors, as well as identifying and acquiring new business within their territory to meet sales goals. This person will drive new retirement plan assets within a geographic territory by making proactive phone calls to, or taking inbound calls from, financial advisors - to engage financial advisors, share sales ideas, provide product information, gather marketing data and offer sales support. The management of the geographic territory will be done in collaboration with an external wholesaler partner, who has ultimate responsibility for the territory. It is expected this person will develop and maintain relationships with these Advisors to increase sales of Equitable 401(K) products, as well as identify new sales opportunities.

The base salary for this position is $60,000. This role is eligible for variable compensation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Series 6 or Series 7 licenses required.

  • Series 63 and Life licenses preferred and/or must be obtained.

  • Minimum 1 years experience working with Retirement Plans, preferably 401(k).

  • Additional hours may be necessary during periods of heavy volume, or for time sensitive projects.

  • Have a working knowledge with the pension provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA.

  • Ability to present the features of the various Equitable pension products.

  • Assist external wholesalers daily with prospecting activities

  • Educate Financial Advisor on all aspects of product/market environment

  • Be aware of the world of investments and of 401(k) competitors’ offerings.

  • Coordinate & participate in pre-sale discussions regarding plan design/product sale/implementation

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial or investment management industry

Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.

Knowledge of Product Line: Knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques for specific products; ability to develop product line processes and strategies.

Listening: Knowledge of effective listening issues and techniques; ability to gather, clarify, and apply information transmitted verbally, while exhibiting a genuine interest toward the speaker.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
