Job Summary/Purpose : The Clinical Operations Manager (Perioperative Services) reports to the Clinical Director(s). Under limited supervision, the Clinical Operations Manager ensures the effective operations of assigned area(s) in collaboration with other health professionals in an environment that is respectful of others, accountable for outcomes and adaptive to change. This role is responsible for the daily planning and comprehensive operations for the following Perioperative areas: Clinical Coordinators, Appointment and Procedure Schedulers, PCAs, Environmental Services, Product and Implant Coordinators, Control; Desk Personnel Pre-Op Clinic, and APC.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university required; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred or completion expected within 4 years in position. A minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience in a large hospital system preferred; managerial experience in an academic medical center strongly preferred. Current knowledge of procedures, techniques, equipment, technical advances and regulatory agencies and standards within the field of healthcare required. Ability to implement sound business and human resource management principles essential.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. If a Registered Nurse, Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state required.
