Job Description:

The Mission Solutions directorate within the Parsons Defense and Intelligence Business Unit seeks a full-time Software Engineer to support our growing business. We are a leading provider of ground and range equipment and enterprise engineering services for civil and commercial aerospace programs as well as the defense and intelligence communities. Customers include NASA, NOAA, the DoD, and International Space Agencies.

Job Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will work as part of our product team to design, implement, maintain, and support a range of software applications for spacecraft ground control systems, telemetry processors, simulators, and related ground system elements. Successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual comfortable working with a cross-disciplinary team in a fast-paced and challenging environment. This position provides opportunities to work with and create cutting-edge aerospace technology in support of US and international space programs. Essential functions include:

  • Analysis, creation, or modification of scripts and software development skills are desired to support system development, configuration, and integration activities

  • Develop software using C/C++ in a Windows environment

  • Design and implement software for large-scale command and control systems

  • Troubleshoot and report software anomalies

  • Lead design, technical, and programmatic meetings, and resolve issues

  • Develop and review integrated technical and programmatic documentation

  • Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives, and responsibilities of the department

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or a related technical field

  • Not less than five (5) years of experience developing, troubleshooting, and debugging multi-threaded C++ software under Windows and Linux development environments

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work with limited direct supervision

  • Excellent verbal / written communication and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks

  • Team-oriented and collaborative personality

Desired Experience with the Following

  • Satellite control systems and ground support equipment, satellite communications protocols, or satellite operations

  • Version control systems, such as Git

  • Troubleshooting issues and providing support directly to software end-users
