Our software engineering team in Chanhassen, Minnesota is looking to add an iOS Developer to work on our popular Garmin Pilot app. We're interested in individuals with experience coding in Swift and/or Objetive C. If you're green in the mobile arena but are a pilot with other software engineering skills, we're interested in you, too! Responsibilities for the iOS Developer in this role include: \n\n\n\tDevelop software in Objective C and Swift\n\tDevelop natively for iOS using Apple's development suite\n\tCreate functionality for features and take ownership of features as they evolve\n\tMay perform as a technical leader or Lead Software Engineer as you grow in this role\n\tCollaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions\n\tProvide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques \n\tServe as a mentor to less experienced software engineers (Software Engineer 1)\n\tEstimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on some electrical design aspects\n\tWork collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goal\n Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics or a technical field (such as CIS or IT) from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of one-year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Other requirements include: \n\n\n\tQualified candidates will also demonstrate proficient knowledge and utilization of engineering tools necessary for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description including:\n\tExperience necessary to develop moderately complex software in Objective C and Swift. \n\tDemonstrated mastery of relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators logic analyzers) and demonstrate proficient ability to capture and document software requirements.\n\n\nCandidates with pilot experience or aviation industry experience are preferred!\n\n \n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
