Job Summary
This position would be responsible for data standards and procedures, enterprise data warehousing, design and development of logical and physical data models and databases, distributed data management, information management, and the administration and support of IT infrastructure related to Business Intelligence systems such as an Enterprise Data Warehouse and an Enterprise Reporting System.
Duties include:
Support the technology infrastructure (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) platform)
Perform various Business Intelligence roles (developer, business analyst, data modeler, database administrator, project manager) in a dynamic, customer-driven environment
Fully leverage the technology supported by the team to meet business goals
Expected to work independently, be a team player, and manage small to large sized projects
Participates in a 24 X 7 on-call rotation with team members
Works fairly independently on the most complex projects, at the highest technical level, of all phases of applications systems analysis activities. Formulates or defines system scope and objectives, based on user needs. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems, considering computer capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. Works with multiple business units, in multi-platform environments, on multi-project assignments. Guides and advises less experienced Systems Analysts. Monitored on projects' progress and results. Errors may cause delay, expense, and disruption.
Some travel may be required within Dominion Energy service territory
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Basic Qualiifications:
Minimum 5 years’ of overall IT experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience with Azure Synapse and SQL Server
Minimum 3 years’ experience(s) with implementing a data solution in Azure
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with SQL (Structured Query Language)
Minimum 3 years’ experience developing reports and database connectivity
Minimum 3 years’ Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) development
Note: A partial year of related expereince of 6 months or greater will count towards a full year.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:
Strong understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts
Experience with data modeling (logical and physical) (plus)
Experience with Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Data Engineering (plus)
Experience with Azure Machine Learning Studio(plus)
Proficiency using R and/or Python (plus)
Knowledge of Customer Information Systems (CIS) (plus)
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Ability to provide a superior level of customer service
Ability to listen to the customer’s needs and translate needs into system requirements
A strong work ethic and ability to quickly understand and resolve difficult issues
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.
