MetLife Project Analyst - IT Infrastructure & End User Technology in Cary, North Carolina

Location: Cary, NC - Hybrid work arrangement. (In office 3 days per week. Remote 2 days per week.)

Role Value Proposition:

This role within the Global Technology Services Team is responsible for assisting with the coordination and delivery of projects that deliver the IT Infrastructure and End User Technology deliverables typically in coordination with MetLife’s Corporate Real Estate and Global Infrastructure teams. These deliverables may include the integration of Networking, Structured cabling, Multimedia, Telephony, and End User Technologies. Typical Projects include office builds, expansions, decommissions, reconfiguration, and end user moves. The Project Analyst will work with other Project Leads and will gain a breadth of experience and exposure to various technologies.

Working independently and with other Project Leads, the Project Analyst will be responsible for assisting in or leading project review meetings, documents project status, updating project plans, tracking financials, and assists in resolving open issues.

A successful candidate in this role is someone who can support a team in delivering projects with an organized and structured discipline with a drive to learn and grow. Clear and timely communications to the team around tasks, issues, risks, and project status is critical. An ability to build relationships which fosters a team environment and leveraging that team to work through challenges together to deliver value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under moderate supervision, executes components of small to medium sized projects and/or leads projects that are small in duration and complexity.

  • Creates, implements and administers project plans and project documentation using defined templates

  • Conducts project meetings and keeps meeting minutes

  • Assists in resolution of project issues related to their project responsibilities

  • Completes project status using defined templates

  • Works with several areas of the organization within and outside the IT organization.

  • Works with experienced Project/Program Managers within the organization to coordinate project activities as assigned.

  • May assist in the documentation of scope, cost and schedule for projects, including achieving deadlines and action steps to be taken.

  • Contributes information to planning efforts

  • Builds and maintains effective on-going communications and relationships with the project team and management to ensure that designated responsibilities are completed in a manner that satisfies project objectives.

  • Ensures that all project documentation (minutes, status, presentations, etc.) is up to date and available to all team members.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: ­­


  • 1-2 years project coordination experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Familiar with essential project management practices.

  • Knowledgeable in office automation tools (MS Office suite of applications, email, Internet, etc.)

  • Good communication skills, inclusive of written, verbal and listening.

  • Begin to accumulate project experience to work towards PMP certification.


  • Basic Understanding of IT Infrastructure (IT Circuits, MDF/DTC rooms, Networking, Multimedia and End user Technologies).

  • Experience coordinating resources across multiple matrixed teams and vendors.

  • Inquisitive and proactive by nature and has a drive to learn.

  • Seeks out Guidance from others to enhance knowledge and skills.

  • Understands Project Management Principles and methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).

  • Ability to deliver messaging through visual presentations.
