The Team You Will Join
The Enterprise Program Management (EPM) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team you will join is focused on executing acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate development initiatives in support of Enterprise strategic objectives. The team consists of purpose-driven professionals who can navigate both US and international initiatives.
The Opportunity
The Director of EPM M&A is responsible for supporting EPM's strategic planning and execution of MetLife’s highest priority initiatives. This role has a specific focus on developing best practices in executing Acquisitions and divestitures and leading the organization to execute deals of strategic importance. The person in this role will have leadership accountability across all workstreams involved in major M&A and corporate strategy efforts. As MetLife continues to simplify, M&A excellence is critical to protecting our interests from a financial and risk perspective.
How You will Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
Program Execution
Successful program execution for strategic MetLife initiatives and M&A
Direct and matrix (all corporate and business functions, 15+ leaders per program) leadership for all parties involved in transactions
Serve as program liaison with technology teams
Develop application inventory and track through program completion
Develop Technology Transition Service Agreements (TSAs)
Review proposed services for integration
Work with technology teams to establish integration or separation budgets
Oversee system access governance process for engaged third parties
Govern data sharing protocols
Ensure program financials are on plan enabling the organization to meet revenue/expense targets
Resolve disputes between vendors and acquiring/selling organizations
Effectively govern limiting risk to MetLife during transformation
Lead on executive stakeholder communications and liaison with external acquiring/selling organizations
Practice Leadership/Enablement
Direct and matrix leadership accountability to maintain and develop global toolkit
Understand the varying demands of each region and tailor EPMO needs accordingly
Develop team with the expertise to solve issues
Accountable for maintaining "Tiger team" with specific international, regional, and corporate expertise accessible at short notice.
Strategy and Planning
- Accountable for understanding and communicating the impact of strategic and M&A activity on the organization. Strategy owner for incorporating organizational changes aligned with Enterprise goals. Uses intellectual capital gained for wider transformation initiatives.

Experience with portfolio, program, or project management
Preferred Qualifications
M&A Experience
MBA / CPA or other advanced degree a plus
10+ years’ experience encompassing business, finance, and technology
Proficient in Excel and understanding of data models
Fluent in Spanish is preferred
Fluent in Portuguese is a plus
Finance acumen is a plus
Management consulting experience is a plus
