The College Experience, offered at The College of Saint Rose in partnership with Living Resources, is an innovative educational program that offers young adults with developmental disabilities a unique curriculum within a college setting.

The College Experience is hiring a tutor to assist students with executive functioning skills in small groups and in1:1 sessions. The tutor may help students with scheduling, organization, food shopping, planning/prioritizing, cleaning, and other tasks that meet the needs of the students. The tutor position provides an excellent opportunity for those seeking to enter the fields of education, human services, psychology, or social work.
Responsibilities Include:
Teaching specific skills one-on-one, or within a small group setting
Tracking student progress towards reaching academic goals and milestones
Meeting with the Academic Coordinator and developing a tutoring schedule and curriculum for students
Schedule will vary each semester based on the academic schedule. The position is expected to be approximately 10-15 hours each week.
Fall 2022 semester:
Wednesdays, 9am-11:15 am and 12pm-2:15 pm
Thursdays, 9am-12 pm and 1:00 pm-3:30 pm.
Pay Rate: $15/hour
Requirements:
An Associate’s Degree or at least 45+ total college credit hours
Experience tutoring or teaching skills to others
Ability to work flexible part-time day and early evening hours during weekdays throughout the year
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Working knowledge of personal finance concepts (counting money, saving money, banking, budgeting, writing checks, etc.)
Experience working with individuals with disabilities, is preferred.
