Summary of Position

The Data Imager/Scanner reports directly to Supervisor – Record Management.

The Data Imager/Scanner is responsible for accurately providing scanning support to multiple departments within Boston Mutual while maintaining the highest levels of service professionalism in all they do.

The Data Imager/Scanner is expected to:

  • Prep Closed Claim files for scanning.

  • Scan closed files and all associated documentation (claim forms, medical records, correspondence, worksheets, policy language and other materials included within the claim file)

  • Index each closed claim file once documents have been scanned to ensure records can be accessed for future reference.

  • Track and log daily production and perform quality control checks on scanned and indexed claim files to ensure image has a high degree of clarity and readability and record is indexed correctly.

  • Participation in department meetings

  • Must comply with privacy guidelines; will protect the privacy of customer information

  • Participation in organizational wide special projects as assigned.

  • Other duties and special projects as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma required

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of office or customer service experience required.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize a high volume of multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to context, substance and detail while meeting goals and strict deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build and extend relationships.

  • Strong computer skills using MS Office.

  • Insurance knowledge is a plus.
