    Job Description

REPORTING AND DATA ANALYST, Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), to manage, coordinate, and support all activities related to the production and dissemination of standard and ad hoc management reports within OVPR and MIT. Will work with the OVPR’s senior leadership team and colleagues with reporting responsibilities across MIT to ensure consistent reporting of data. Responsibilities will include using state-of-the-art tools/strategies to create, maintain, and disseminate production and ad-hoc management reports and reporting tools; preparing and maintaining supporting documentation for reports; identifying and assisting with resolving data discrepancies caused by data entry errors in source/feeder systems; highlighting potential areas of concern with existing reporting to management and/or analysts such as data governance, scheduling conflicts or priorities, production problems, etc.; entering and extracting information from various applications and systems, transforming data in spreadsheets and data visualization software, and identifying and researching anomalies; conducting requirements gathering for new reporting needs; working closely with the OVPR development team to understand data structures and relationships within the database tables and providing assistance and advice to end-users regarding report execution and interpretation; and continually striving to refine, automate, and standardize processes, databases, and reports.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ experience in data administration, financial analysis, and reporting; excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to multitask, prioritize a variety of tasks, work as an individual contributor and as part of a team, and collaborate with others in the fulfillment of joint objectives; attention to detail; analytical skills; and comprehensive understanding of relational data structures. PREFERRED: experience with Tableau, Excel, Cognos, SQL, Kuali Coeus/other research administration system of record and BrioQuery. Job #24021-8 5/10/24
