Pfizer Patient Recruitment Strategist in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Job Summary

Pfizer Research & Development is responsible for the clinical development and advancement of Pfizer's pipeline of innovative medicines and vaccines. These breakthroughs would not be possible without the thousands of investigator sites and volunteers who participate in our clinical trials each year. We aim to lead the industry by having the most patient centric clinical trials, building on our trusted relationships with our investigator sites and significantly reducing recruitment cycle times. The Recruitment Strategist contributes to the achievement of this goal by developing patient recruitment and retention strategies to help enable the predictable delivery of Pfizer's portfolio across multiple TA franchises including Inflammation & Immunology, Internal Medicine, Anti-Infectives, Vaccines, and Oncology. The position will provide leadership in the areas of recruitment and retention strategy development and managing relationships with participant enrollment providers and internal stakeholders. We are seeking seasoned, strategic, and passionate colleagues with a proven track record of building recruitment strategies at portfolio, study, country, and site levels.

The Recruitment Strategist is accountable for the planning and delivery of strategy and tactics to effectively facilitate end to end participant recruitment and retention to plan, to budget, and to time within a range of indications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Global Subject Matter Participant Recruitment Expert throughout CD&O and within study teams, consulting cross functionally on the design of recruitment strategies and tactics which will include activities such as:

  • Support strategic development and execution of protocol- and site-specific patient recruitment and retention plans, providing consultation and training to clinical study teams and ongoing analysis of trends and impact of plans to defined targets

  • Proactively identify protocol-specific recruitment and retention risks and offer aligned strategic, evidence based mitigations, contingency plans and recommendations to clinical study teams

  • Collaborate with clinical study teams and other internal key stakeholders as well as external providers to streamline and coordinate tactics associated with protocol and site-specific recruitment and retention plans

  • Contribute to study close-out activities including strategic analysis of lessons learned and best practices

  • Provide input and feedback to Patient Recruitment Leadership Team in support of identification of program and portfolio-level trends and needs

  • Work with recruitment suppliers to understand capabilities and budget to support recruitment strategies

  • Provide oversight of recruitment specialists and vendors to ensure participant enrollment programs deliver to contract

  • Promote a continuous improvement culture to streamline appropriate processes for maximum efficiency and productivity

  • Ensure recruitment strategies meet country and site segmentation needs, support the equitable enrollment of diverse and underrepresented populations, and engage innovative solutions to achieve clinical trial enrollment and timeline goals.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business or science

  • Candidate should have 7+ years of pharmaceutical research experience with at least 5 years of experience specifically in patient recruitment related area at provider, CRO or sponsor company. Ideally, a mix of the three.

  • Knowledge of patient recruitment strategies & tactics including, but not limited to: Direct to patient outreach, digital/mobile and traditional, site organizations, advocacy groups, patient networks, and on-site support

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in relating to colleagues and associates both inside and outside the organization; ability to work independently and in a matrixed environment

  • Well-developed planning, observation, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Responsible for communicating problems/issues along with action plans or alternatives for resolution

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including ability to influence, persuade, negotiate, and moderate conflict

  • Experience in the creation, tracking, and reporting of metrics and key performance indicators

  • Experience in collaborating with legal and privacy officers to ensure processes and systems are compliant.

Work Location Assignment:Remote - Field Based

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,900.00 to $166,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
