    Job Description

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR, Mechanical Engineering (MechE), to directly support Professor Giovanni Traverso and contribute to the overall operations and program administration for a large multidisciplinary group of researchers and staff that support initiatives focused on developing clinically-relevant solutions to human diseases. The majority of the duties will involve program operations for multiple foundation-funded programs and one industry-funded program. Will meet the demands of these programs with meticulous coordination and management. The key responsibilities include preparing for monthly meetings, organizing biannual or annual sponsor meetings, conducting monthly budget reconciliations, and maintaining frequent communication with various research teams to align with the sponsors’ expectations and terms. Each program presents its own set of unique reporting obligations necessitating vigilant supervision and consistent dialogue with the principal investigator (PI), research team, and sponsors. The role also encompasses a significant degree of financial oversight coupled with duties related to reporting and compliance and both working with the PI and independently to ensure program progress and compliance.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least three years’ administrative, operations, and/or project/program/budget management experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with people at all levels, including high-level stakeholders; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently and as part of a team; attention to detail; initiative; flexibility; proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management; comfort using PCs and Macs; and discretion and judgment with confidential information. PREFERRED: experience with sponsored research grant management in higher education/hospital environments, and experience with implementing effective organizational processes for research programs.
