    Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), to conduct research in sustainable steel building design. Will explore the reuse of structural steel elements and how to facilitate and accelerate adoption of steel reuse in the U.S. This will include detailed life-cycle analysis; developing an environmental product declaration (EPD) for reused structural steel heavy sections in buildings; and examining data needs and tracking methods for circular adoption and EPD production. The research hopes to advance steel reuse within the U.S. and will focus on the carbon implications of steel reuse, consistency across industry, and data quality and availability for reused structural materials. Will have the opportunity to advance your own research goals, collaborate with industry/public stakeholders to enhance the project's reach and impact, contribute to peer-reviewed publications, present findings at scientific conferences, organize workshops, contribute to industry projects, and mentor graduate/undergraduate students.
