    Job Description

MANAGER OF INVESTMENT AND GIFT ACCOUNTING, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), to be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, analysis, control, and improvement of complex accounting and financial functions involving investments and gifts. Responsibilities include accurately reporting investment and gift numbers, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in the U.S; analyzing and reporting on changes in investment and gift values to senior management; acting as the main contact in Controllership for all matters involving gifts and investments; managing the Pool A endowment payout in SAP; running the accounting for the life-income and donor advised giving programs; and supervise an accounting officer and senior staff accountant. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, business, or related field; seven years of experience in accounting and/or finance, including experience reconciling accounts; knowledge of accounting principles and relevant federal regulations for specialty areas, including those specific to research and nonprofit organizations; comprehensive knowledge of general accounting and financial reporting; excellent customer service, problem identification, problem solving, collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills; proficiency with Excel and Word; and experience with reporting tools such as BrioQuery, Cognos, or Tableau. Seek a proactive individual who is able to work both independently and as part of a team; manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities; meet strict deadlines; communicate complex issues effectively; and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals from varying backgrounds and levels in a complex, busy, and changing environment. PREFERRED: MBA or master's degree in a related field; CPA; experience with SAP or similar accounting and reporting systems; and experience in higher education or nonprofit accounting.
