MANAGER, DISABILITY SERVICES, Human Resources (HR)-Disabilities Services and Medical Leaves Office (DSMLO), to oversee and manage day-to-day operations for Disability Services, including MIT’s leaves management and worker’s compensation programs, required ADA accommodations, and long-term disability administration. Will manage and implement all leave administration and worker’s compensation services in collaboration with DSMLO staff, DLCs (departments, labs, centers), and MIT’s leave administration (Workpartners) and worker’s compensation vendors; counsel employees, managers, and DLC HR leave contacts on MIT’s complex leave policies and related federal and state laws; develop communications materials; create and/or update materials to help employees and managers better understand MIT’s leaves management, worker’s compensation, and disability services programs; develop education programs about MIT policies/processes/practices for requesting accommodations under ADA, taking and administering leaves, worker’s compensation, and long-term disability; participate in policy development or modifications and fulfill compliance requirements; develop reports to track and analyze data; participate in initiatives to review new business processes and technology that will enhance MIT’s ability to effectively manage inquiries; collaborate with internal partners on resolving disability services and medical leave program issues.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; seven years’ HR experience; strong employee services background, including employee relations, leave management, worker’s compensation, and/or other disability- or benefits-related programs; excellent organizational, management, analytical, interpersonal, customer service, and oral and written communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and independently; advanced-level knowledge of and experience with leave policies and programs, worker’s compensation, and accommodations under ADA; experience implementing programs using technology; experience with MS Office; and experience developing and delivering training and managing people and projects. PREFERRED: advanced degree or professional certifications; experience with SAP, reporting tools, and FileMaker; and MIT experience. Job #22235-111/3/23
