    Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) AND PROGRAMMING ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, Media Lab, to perform diverse administrative activities in the human resources area. Will develop and use broad understanding of policies and procedures to respond to and resolve inquiries; maintain and schedule group calendars; coordinate travel; compose, draft, edit, and proofread documents; handle weekly payroll processing; maintain directories, lists, intranet, digital files, databases, etc.; assist with annual reviews; conduct new employee orientations; create appointment transactions; coordinate new hire paperwork and visa intake and processing; manage temporary agency process and act as liaison for temporary workers; order supplies; coordinate and manage logistics and collateral for meetings and events; monitor all financial activities for the group; serve as primary liaison to contractors on administrative and financial details; and perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative or related experience; excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; discretion and sound judgment with confidential information and when solving sensitive problems; and advanced-level computer skills and the ability to learn new programs. Must be able to own and follow through on tasks, demonstrate a flexible approach to work and openness to change, concurrently handle competing and changing priorities, and work collaboratively. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree; experience with MIT business apps (e.g., Concur, PeopleFluent); and proficiency with Mac computers and Office 365, Google apps, Dropbox, Canva, and Mailchimp.
