    Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) ASSISTANT, MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU), to perform diverse administrative duties for the HR and Learning and Development team. Will schedule interviews, perform pre-screening, assist with new employee orientation and onboarding, work absence management for the CU employee, act as payroll backup, help with events and budget reconciliation, and ensure spreadsheet maintenance. Responsibilities will include acting as the primary point of contact for greeting and directing candidates/members; responding to employee communications (e.g., insurance forms, VOEs, annual policy approvals) and general HR correspondence; providing logistical support for training and social events, e.g., food ordering, room and technology set up, and meeting vendors; monitoring and ordering office and onboarding supplies and employee gear, validating deliveries and replenishing as needed; maintaining budget receipts for reconciliation; keeping materials updated on HR internal communications website and calendar pages; serving as backup point of contact for running weekly payroll; recordkeeping/auditing assistance for employee personnel jacket maintenance; performing scanning for subpoena requests, auditable policies, and required documentation for personnel files; serving as BambooHR administrator, editing and adjusting time off banks, performing payroll reconciliations, tracking annual blackout periods and providing annual auditable reports, and maintaining accuracy of record changes; assisting with recruitment and onboarding, including pre-employment screening verification. updating candidate database(s), and coordinating new hire orientation (e.g., ordering IT resources, setting up new hire packages, desk set up, etc.); and participating in departmental and organizational projects as needed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent and at least three years’ administrative, office, or related experience. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree or HR certificate and HR experience. Job #23884-5The position is located in Lexington, MA3/28/24
