    Job Description

DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES OPERATIONS AND EVENTS, Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER)-Facilities, to collaborate with the director of athletics in providing strategic direction and oversight of the execution of designated day-to-day operations of athletic, physical education and wellness, and recreational facilities Responsibilities include ensuring the regular maintenance and upkeep of all DAPER facilities and equipment; development of operational policies and procedures for facility utilization and short and long-range maintenance and construction; strategic planning, scheduling, and oversight of events and rentals for internal and external constituents; revenue generation and community outreach; budget management; management of custodial contracts; and personnel management. Will also serve as department liaison to designated campus offices, including EHS, CRSP, Capital Renewal, Design and Construction; and act as a member of the senior leadership team, advising and assisting the director of athletics with operational matters and decisions that pertain to the varsity athletics program and other functional areas within DAPER. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s in sports management or related field; at least seven years’ experience in athletic facilities and operations or a related field, e.g., project, game, personnel, revenue generation, or budget management; comprehensive understanding of athletic and recreational program and facility management; ability to independently organize, prioritize, and carry out detailed procedures with minimal supervision; initiative; diplomacy; strategic approach to managing work, including particular attention to detail, timelines, and collaboration; tact and good judgment with sensitive and confidential information; willingness to lead and work as a team member; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
