    Job Description

COORDINATOR FOR HR AND SPECIAL PROJECTS, Laboratory for Nuclear Science (LNS), to act as first point of contact and provide wide-ranging, responsive, and transparent support for the human resources (HR) function; and handle complex and diverse duties for multiple projects/programs. Will help coordinate HR activities and special projects, including responding to inquiries, facilitating recruitment and onboarding, coordinating rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and compensation. HR project work includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing activities and processes to ensure successful and timely completion; monitoring project scope and schedule; compiling data and analyzing findings; and preparing documentation and reporting. May also contribute to and help to lead trainings for staff, serve on various committees, and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in related field; two years’ project management experience, preferably in an HR environment; general knowledge of the HR function, including employment law, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and onboarding; strong Microsoft Office skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to proactively anticipate issues and complications to processes; excellent oral and written communication skills, including spelling, punctuation, and grammar; tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information; initiative; and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes; manage a high volume of work, including a variety of concurrent tasks; work independently with minimal supervision; remain flexible as situations demand without sacrificing quality of work; anticipate and act on the needs of direct managers and other stakeholders, taking action to address consequences, potential problems, or opportunities for change; and resolve problems in a thorough and timely manner.
