    Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, POETIC JUSTICE GROUP, Media Lab (part-time, 20 hrs/wk.), to provide varied and complex administrative support for the Poetic Justice Group (PJG) (https://www.media.mit.edu/groups/poetic-justice/overview/) led by Ekene Ijeoma. Duties will include managing the day-to-day spending for the group according to Media Lab finance and MIT procedures and compliance policy; working with the fiscal officer to review budgets and spending; liaising between students and professor; serving as an information source for students regarding group activities, travel, purchasing, etc.; helping to maintain PJG webpages on the Media Lab website by updating event pages and blog posts, coordinating with the Media Lab’s communications team as necessary; and performing other duties as needed. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with a diverse group of researchers, students, corporate sponsors, and administrators; ability to proactively engage and anticipate needs; flexibility; comfort working in a demanding, fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions; ability to work independently and as part of a team, handle multiple tasks concurrently, set priorities, and meet deadlines; and proficiency with English grammar and composition, including excellent editing/proofreading skills. PREFERRED: bachelor's degree; experience with MIT business apps (e.g., SAPgui, Concur, Google Workspace, and Dropbox) and PJG project management and communication apps (e.g., Asana and Slack).
