    Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, Global Languages, to perform diverse and complex administrative duties to support the director and general operations of the unit. Primary responsibilities include providing administrative support to the director; office administration; conducting financial transactions; event coordination; maintaining Global Languages’ space, including access and facilities service requests; and other duties as needed. Will work under the supervision of the director of administration and finance and balance priorities and complete various tasks according to sometimes fast-changing and competing schedules.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; proficiency with Mac OS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Zoom; ability to learn new programs/software as needed with minimal supervision; experience managing and discretely handling confidential information; excellent organizational skills and ability to arrange and complete tasks with sometimes competing priorities; a high degree of work flexibility in order to accommodate quickly changing priorities and needs and coordinate multiple concurrent tasks with multiple stakeholders; strong interpersonal, writing, communication, and copy editing skills; ability to represent Global Languages and interact effectively with diverse groups of people; and meticulous attention to detail in drafting and reviewing written, financial, and scheduling information. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree; MIT experience; and familiarity with Institute policies, procedures, and administrative tools/applications.
