What Is the Opportunity?

The Travelers Intern program provides qualified candidates an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand business experience. As a Property and Casualty (Package) Underwriting intern/co-op, you will receive valuable on-the-job training such as understanding underwriting processes, risk analysis, business development and retention strategies, assessing P&C Risks, and being part of a collaborative team.

What Will You Do?

  • Complete challenging and meaningful work.

  • Learn about the insurance industry, different lines of business, interact with a variety of talented leaders from the organization and more!

  • Learn and understand effective strategies for profitable underwriting, business development and pipelining, customer service and retention, risk analysis, Property and Casualty Insurance and other ancillary coverages underwriting.

  • Develop knowledge of Travelers Mid-Market business, P&C Insurance, Business Processes, working as part of a collaborative team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • We are most interested in students who are serious about entering the insurance industry and who are excited about the prospect of making P&C underwriting their future career choice.

  • Preferred areas of study include Business Administration, Risk Management, and Insurance.

  • Undergraduate students completing their 3rd or 4th year preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

What is a Must Have?

  • Candidate must be pursuing a diploma or bachelor’s degree.

  • Working availability through summer semester.

  • Legally eligible to work in the Canada.
