STAR 95.9 | Executive Producer | Morning Show

Who we're looking for:

STAR 95.9 Calgary has a rare and exciting opportunity for an Executive Producer of Calgary’s favourite morning show, Breakfast with Billie Jo! Reporting to the STAR 95.9 Content Director, you will be responsible for managing the multi-platform content & operations of the STAR 95.9 morning show. The Executive Producer will coordinate all facets of the show’s production & content creation across all platforms as well as being part of the STAR content leadership team.

What you'll do:

  • Work with the Content Director, show hosts & producers to develop & execute a winning multi-platform strategy for the morning show. The EP is directly responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the strategy.

  • Lead the show production, support the talent in creating a highly competitive, creative, relevant, entertaining and informative daily radio show and multi-platform content.

  • Optimize the workflow and outputs of show’s production staff to ensure high quality content is delivered efficiently and effectively across all platforms.

  • Be the show liaison with the Branded Content & Integration team with a focus on finding new and innovative ways to drive revenue. You’ll also be the key liaison for the show with the wider station content & promotions teams also.

  • Lead the daily planning of the show, identifying content that is of appeal to the target audience and fits the tone and values of the show & STAR brand. Influence content to ensure flawless on-target execution.

  • Ensure the successful implementation of the agreed upon digital content strategy for the show. Develop digital content and ideas with the team to increase engagement. You will be the champion of the digital extension of the show, passionate about driving engagement and reach of the show’s content. You’ll establish a strong relationship with the Director of Content Strategy to assist you in this work.

  • Oversee all audio content associated with the show including on demand audio & podcast. Work with the audio production team to ensure all imaging and audio requirements are met.

  • Employee shall assist the Content Director as required with other aspects of the day-to-day management and coordination of the programming department including On-air talent, Music, Promotion and Production.

  • Be comfortable being ‘heard’ and ‘seen’ on the morning show.

  • Work on special projects for STAR as directed by the Content Director/ AC National Programmer.

  • Passion for engaging with our audience (including in person, on the phone, in social media, etc.)

  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in all settings.

  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humour.

  • Familiarity with WideOrbit, MusicMaster Pro/CS, VOXPRO, and Adobe Audio an asset.
