Who we're looking for:
We’re currently seeking a Sr Solutions Architect to join the OSS Architecture and Strategy team that is primarily based out of our Calgary, Alberta offices. This is a key leadership position with excellent growth opportunities.
The focus for the successful candidate will be to analyze and design solutions for OSS related projects. Focusing on research and architect solutions, provide governance over design and documentation, provide technical leadership and mentoring for the project implementation and support teams. As well this candidate will provide technical leadership and technical guidance in support of business-critical systems, perform the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the development of a solution architecture. Design and lead the implementation of solution architecture based on business requirements and backoffice system strategies.
What you'll do:
Assist with application/back-office architectural strategy, design, security, governing principles, and standards
Design and implement solutions to support the reliable delivery of products and services as well as to meet the goals of the business
Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring and support to project and other technical teams
Create design, approach and planning documentation for approval and handoff for implementation in an agile project delivery
Participate in project deliveries to provide guidance ensuring deliveries adheres to solution designs
Deliver quality solutions that meet business requirements and align with long term business applications/OSS/self-serve roadmaps – covering application, data, security, infrastructure, network, and integration architecture
Implement and oversee Security standards and best practices for domain
Participate in the collaborative architectural governance processes
Participate in development of Architectural Standards for all technology domains
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction is obtained.
What you bring:
8-12 years of IT and business/industry experience, specializing in architecture design, systems lifecycle management, and cloud technologies within the Telecommunications sector.
Automation skills, ideally knowledge of one or more automation software products
Experience with replication, high availability, archiving, backup, restore, and disaster recovery/business continuity storage practices
Ability to learn new concepts and technologies, and apply them to provide the best business outcomes
Ability to formulate and communicate ideas clearly in a business environment, including presenting in front of varied internal audiences, including executive leadership
Experience in the resolution of complex technical/design issues
Work in partnership with the technical leads, and developers, making sure that they are able to realize the architecture, by a combination of mentoring and direct involvement
Ability to function at all levels: from strategic to tactical; from reactive problem solving to proactive analytical thinking; to proof of concepts and pure research
Experience in enforcing projects and programs to follow an overall architectural strategy and processes
Familiarity with enterprise technical architecture, RESTful and SOAP services, and TOGAF certification.
Provide technical thought leadership while working closely with stakeholders having both technical and non-technical backgrounds
Experience with Network Inventory, Network Assurance and Network Automation an asset.
Experience with enterprise integration an asset.
