Canadian Tire Merchandise Pricing Analyst in Calgary, Alberta

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Manager of Pricing, the Pricing Analyst will consume, execute, audit, and track all levels of system pricing. As an integral and collaborative member of the Merchandising Business Support Team - this position plays an active role through proactive and effective pricing implementation and auditing for all FGL banners.

Price Entry:

  • Consume the data and build the price events to support physical store and ecommerce promotional periods, list price changes, and temporary and permanent product markdowns.

  • Understands all vendor minimum advertised price agreements and ensures that they are adhered to prior to the execution of pricing events.

  • Communicates price event strategies to the ecommerce and merchandising teams to ensure proper execution and strategy.

  • Assesses and resolves store pricing discrepancies by liaising with store system support, store operations, and merchandising groups.

  • Release the required price events and monitor the price event volume and data flow of released events.

    Price Auditing:

  • Audits promotional price events for Sport Chek and Atmosphere. This includes consuming event data and interpreting and analyzing data for discrepancies or errors.

  • Completes the entry of any corrections, missed items, or statements for price events.

  • Audit permanent and clearance price events to ensure proper compliance with merchandising strategy.

  • Follow the Advertising and Price Compliance rules when auditing and building all types of Price Events as advised by the Legal department.

    What you bring

  • 2-3 years of retail and/or purchasing experience is required. Experience in a Sporting Goods or Softgoods (Footwear and/or Apparel) retailer is an asset.

  • Knowledge of PMM or other related software is an asset.

  • Knowledge of Maestro or other related Pricing Software is an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and collaborate with all teams, areas, and levels of business affecting the product management practice.

  • Ability to seek new and innovative ways of achieving key results, with rooting all decisions in the Sport Chek & Atmosphere Customer

  • Proficiency in standard office software, demonstrated excel capability, experience in reporting and analytics, knowledge of inventory management systems and ad hoc query tools. Experience in computer coding like Visual Basic and SQL is an asset.
