What You'll Be Doing
The Executive Director is responsible for the distribution of Environmental products within the Corporate Solutions Group for CIBC Capital Markets. The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, hardworking, production-focused sales team. The incumbent’s mandate is to provide coverage leadership to clients within Global Markets, with a focus on activities that will increase the distribution of carbon allowances, carbon offsets, renewable energy certificates, and other environmental products within the network. A keen grasp of these products and their applications is essential. The individual must be a trusted partner, providing dedicated support for each district within their geographic coverage area.

How You’ll Succeed
Relationship building - Work closely with the team, traders, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking to develop appropriate solutions and timely execution of transactions.
Leadership – Provides senior strategic leadership and maximizes the operations efficiency of the Environmental business. Ensures team-compliance to market and credit risk limits. Ensures that the CSG business has adequate technology platforms and capabilities. Proactively identifies, develops, motivates and retains top talent within the group.
Client engagement - Determine and provide product / rate information to our clients in a timely manner with exemplary service.
Market analysis - Monitor/track and analyze market activities, economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day to be in a position to respond to client requests.
Subject matter expertise – in Environmental Products, to educate staff and to work with clients on transition specific opportunities.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate a minimum of 6 years of related experience ; Experience with interest rate derivatives, financial statement analysis, funding/debt management. Strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets with sufficient knowledge of the financial services industry / regulatory environment.
You have an MBA, CFA or other relevant professional designation preferred . CSC and CPH also considered an asset.
You are a caring and accountable leader. Highly developed people management and team building skills. Superior business planning and management skills.
You’re goal oriented. Proven track record of results.
You give meaning to data. Excellent analytical and intellectual capabilities; ability to draft comprehensive presentations using advanced frameworks in PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Strategic thinking capability with ability to identify and exploit trends and opportunities
