Canadian Tire Category Manager - Visual in Calgary, Alberta

What you'll do

The role of the Category Manager - Visual is to build and deliver instore visual direction on key strategic initiatives across all categories. The Category Manager is responsible for building and communicating the visual standard across the store network supporting visual and corporate strategy while creating a compelling and dynamic customer in-store experience. Building both internal and external relationships is critical to ensure effective communication and direction is provided supporting a best in class customer experience. The Category Manager must be a strong liaison between Operations, Purchasing and Marketing, directing communication efficiently and effectively in order to meet all corporate and vendor visual objectives.

  • Build monthly visual communications that will provide direction and insight into upcoming visual initiatives and instore visual execution.

  • Build seasonal changeover documents to provide stores with detailed direction and strategy for the upcoming season.

  • Build visual standards documents providing detailed merchandising standards across the store network creating consistency and a best in class shopping experience.

  • Work with key vendors on instore merchandising communication and standards and oversee vendor visual merchandising programs.

  • Collaborates and builds strong relationships with all levels of store management, visual merchandising teams, purchasing, marketing and external vendor partners.

What you bring

  • Exceptional communication, organization and time management skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and time sensitive projects is a critical component to the success of this category.

  • 3-5 years experience in a visual merchandising role is an asset.

  • Fundamental computer skills are necessary to succeed in this role

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is an asset.

  • Ability to implement change in a positive, proactive manner.

  • Aptitude for collaboration, inclusion and developing strong relationships.

  • High energy, enthusiasm and a drive to succeed.
