Job Purpose

The Digital Strategist is responsible for supporting the Business Owner and Product Owner within a multi-disciplinary digital product team to ensure the product roadmap is aligned to business capabilities and outcomes and have a pathway to deliver. You will be responsible for setting the business problem and context to be solved, identifying objectives & key results, business case, and support users to successful adoption and value delivery through change management and communication plans. This role will support multiple digital teams across the NY Electric Digital product lines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop/Manage business case and benefits from initial business case development, financial approvals, updates to reflect roadmap, through to value delivery and benefit tracking.

  • Develop benefit forecast models and tracking mechanisms with the support of Business Owner(s) and subject matter experts.

  • Supports Business Owner and Product Owner with backlog prioritization to ensure the product backlog aligns to the business’ vision and outcomes.

  • Drive change management and product roll-out plan, stakeholder engagement, communications plan

  • Participates in team agile ceremonies including quarterly PI Planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and daily stand ups.

  • Carry out administrative tasks to support day to day operation of products including; adding/maintaining user access, system table data updates, triaging trouble tickets

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering or relevant field

• 3-5 years relevant business experience

• Experience working on digital product teams highly preferred

• Experience designing and refining value case (e.g., financial value to the business, strategic value, etc.)

• Experience in defining, testing, and refining product assumptions

• Experience in Agile product or project management

• At least 1-2 years working with (or within) utility

• Financial modeling and value case development experience

More Information

Salary: $107,000 - $151,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
