Three (3) positions will be filled by consideration of all applicants to this posting.

These positions administer and coordinate family support services and programming within designated Minnesota Correctional Facilities (MCFs) in collaboration with facility case managers, transition coordinators, interagency and community partners. These positions support incarcerated persons and their families and serve as point persons for critical concerns and in navigating policies or processes. These positions also coordinate or facilitate family visitation, parent training and support programs designed to reunite and strengthen families

Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held .

  • One (1) year of experience working with people impacted by child protection or family court systems.

Applicants that meet the experience requirements listed above will be further assessed on the following:

  • Working knowledge of corrections, the criminal justice system, child welfare, and court systems.

  • Customer service skills sufficient to answer family-related questions or concerns navigating policies, processes, or procedures.

  • Human relation skills sufficient to develop collaborative relationships with a variety of public, private, and community organizations.

  • Organizational skills sufficient to coordinate family support services and programming within designated MCFs.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology or related field.

  • Experience supervising correctional clients in a secured or correctional environment.

  • Case management or counseling experience in a secured or correctional environment.

  • Experience using virtual workspaces (such as Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.) for delivering content at meetings or presentations.

Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.

Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
