KPMG Accounting Technician - compilation engagements in Brossard, Canada

Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

As a Accounting Technician, you will have the opportunity to support the growth of our KPMG Family and assist our Montreal South Shore team and clients in their payroll bookkeeping. Your strong organizational skills and resourcefulness will enable you to effectively manage the bookkeeping of multiple clients and ensure that KPMG clients receive superior service, all under the supervision of experienced colleagues.

What you will do

  • Perform payroll tasks for a group of small clients

  • Perform monthly bookkeeping tasks, bank reconciliation, receivable and payables, etc

  • Prepare GST/QST reports.

  • Prepare tax slips such as T4s/RL1s, T5s and other relevant slips.

  • Prepare compilation missions

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients

  • Occasionally travel to client premises, if required

What you bring to the role

  • Post-secondary education, Accounting and Management.

  • At least 5 years of experience with equivalent duties.

  • Member of National Payroll Institute/Canadian Payroll Association an asset

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French.

  • Demonstrated expertise in monthly accounting and balance sheet reconciliation

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Acomba, an asset

  • Ability to prepare reviews and compilation engagement (notices to reader) files and working papers, including unaudited financial statements, is an asset.

  • Professionalism, ability to work independently and intrinsic initiative in work performance.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Positive attitude in situations that may differ from engagement to engagement and under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to manage several files simultaneously.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
