Job Purpose :

Help patients return to living their lives to the fullest by applying clinical expertise to evaluate and treat patients and deliver rapid recovery from musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, and following orthopedic surgeries.

This position is located onsite at 9325 Upland Lane North, Suite 230 Maple Grove, MN 55369

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates patients and develops treatment plans appropriate to address patients’ functional limitations

  • Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed physical therapy plans of care to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain or prevent physical dysfunction in patients

  • Analyzes patient data to determine patient needs and treatment goals

  • Records patients’ medical history, prognosis, treatment, treatment response and progress in the patients’ chart

  • Instructs patients and family in the treatment procedures to be continued or employed at home in order to sustain progress

  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit

  • Skillfully applies manual therapy and other appropriate therapeutic techniques to address patient treatment needs

  • Mentors, utilizes and supervises clinical staff in efficient and effective patient care consistent with Orthology standards; may supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, Certified Athletic Trainers and/or Physical Therapy Aides to deliver exceptional patient care

  • Develops trusted “go-to” relationships with doctors, businesses, attorneys, insurance adjusters, case managers & individuals to ensure business growth

  • Helps ensure well-run clinical operations by leveraging technologies and by completing necessary documentation and processing in a timely fashion consistent with high quality of care

  • Stays current with trends and practices in therapeutic treatment. Participates in clinical staff education sessions, meetings and quality improvement programs for patient care and staff development projects

  • Satisfies all continuing education requirements in the state of practice

  • Complies with all pertinent rules and regulations within the appropriate State Practice Act and the American Physical Therapy Association’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information in compliance with federal HIPAA laws

Required Qualifications:

  • BS, MS or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited school with licensure in Minnesota

  • 3+ years of experience is ideal, but new graduates will be considered

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Knowledge of Orthology’s technology and data reporting systems

  • Proven solid skills in manual therapies

  • Proven effective therapeutic skills

  • Proven excellent organization and communication (verbal and written) skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sports therapy experience

  • Demonstrated ability to grow a practice

  • Clinical leadership experience

Physical Requirements:

The physical therapist (PT) should be able to perform work duties in the Medium physical demand level according to the US Department of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles. That is, the worker should be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. on an occasional (1-33% of the workday) basis, up to 25 lbs. on a frequent (34-66% of the workday) basis and up to 10 lbs. on a constant (67-100% of the workday) basis. Furthermore, the PT should be able to tolerate the following Critical Demands:

  • Occasional (1-33% of the workday): sitting, walking, twisting, climbing, overhead reaching stooping, firm grasping, and fine dexterity (typing)

  • Frequent (34-66% of the workday): static standing, dynamic standing, walking, forward reaching, gross dexterity, sustained neck flexion, and light pinching

  • Constant (67-100% of the workday): light grasping
