Pratt Risk Management Associate/Clery Coordinator (71101) in Brooklyn, New York

Are you passionate about safeguarding institutional integrity and enhancing risk management strategies? The Risk Management Associate & Clery Coordinator assists in the planning, development and implementation of operational risk frameworks/measurement methodologies, policies, standards and procedures specific to the needs of the Institute which are aligned with Pratt’s Enterprise Risk Program (ERM), strategic plan, and industry best practices. The position is also responsible for collecting and maintaining relevant statistics and ensuring compliance with the Clery Act.

Risk Management and Policy Development

  • Partner with the Risk Management team and other institute stakeholders in carrying out various initiatives and projects related to risk management, including but not limited to the compilation and regular review of the identified risks on the Risk Register.

  • Assist in developing, drafting, and maintaining written material associated with risk management by identifying, assessing, and monitoring various areas of the institute’s operations.

  • Work with departments to support the coordination of events that are compliant with risk management requirements and objectives.

  • Partner with Institute departments for signs of risk exposure or loss to ensure compliance with Institute policies.

  • Assist departments in identifying and evaluating risk areas across the operational activities.

  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners.

  • Attend internal/external meetings and participate on various committees as needed.

  • Attend risk management training, seminars, workshops, and conferences as needed.

  • Works collaboratively with various internal/external partners.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by supervisor or management.

Clery Act Compliance

  • Serve as the institution’s designated “Campus Safety Survey Administrator,” as defined by the US Department of Education.

  • Coordinate the institution’s Clery Act Compliance program.

  • Develop the institution’s Clery Compliance policies and procedures.

  • Prepare, publish, and distribute the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.

  • Ensure notices announcing the availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report are properly developed and available to prospective students and employees.

  • In conjunction with the applicable offices, develop and implement Clery Act required policies, programs, and activities.

  • Gather crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal and external sources, such as the Office of Student Affairs, local law enforcement agencies, and the state police.

  • Work with the appropriate Institute departments to identify all Campus Security Authorities for the institution and maintain a list of them for each academic year.

  • Send annual requests for crime statistics to all Campus Security Authorities at the end of each calendar year.

  • Provide, facilitate, or manage the training of Campus Security Authorities.

  • Consolidate relevant data from these sources with information and policies from across institutional departments.

Advisory and Communication

  • Assist with advising the campus community on established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Respond to inquiries from both internal and external partners regarding the policies and procedures.
