Part-Time Faculty - Writing Department (71103) Location: Brooklyn, NY Description: The Writing Department at Pratt Institute is creating a pool of part-time faculty candidates for the 2023-2024 academic year. Writing is the home for creative writers at Pratt. For us, writing is a collaborative and community-engaged practice. Our curriculum emphasizes play, experimentation, field study, and opportunities to write across multiple genres and forms. We seek applicants with teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: *undergraduate senior-year thesis writing studios *multi-genre graduate writing studios *field-based learning Devoted to a creative learning community, Pratt recognizes the strength that stems from a diversity of perspectives, ideas, backgrounds, approaches and experiences. Qualifications: Applicants are required to have an MFA or PhD in Creative Writing or an equivalent degree, and a record of successful publication (one book or multiple shorter publications). At least one year of college-level teaching experience is strongly preferred.
