About the Role
The Manager, Work Order Life Cycle is responsible for managing accurate recording and reconciliation in PowerPlan and SAP of all constructing work in progress (CWIP) and retirement work in progress (RWIP) for the individual Operating Companies. Accountable for effectively facilitating the asset life cycle process from installation to retirement.
Reports to the Director, Plant Accounting and manages work orders and reconciliation of plant accounting transactions.
What You'll Do
-Manages activities across multiple Operating Companies to properly record and reconcile asset information associated with up to 100,000 construction work in progress (CWIP) orders received annually and account for the correlating retirement work in progress (RWIP).
-Monitors and reviews information submitted from Operating Companies to identify financial errors or clerical discrepancies.
-Conducts period analyses of CWIP in PowerPlan to troubleshoot errors or impediments resulting in delaying CWIP to movement to plant in service (PIS) status.
-Performs analyses around asset additions and retirements to ensure accuracy.
-Identifies process and system improvements to continually improve the reconciliation rate of CWIP in PowerPlan.
-Coordinates with other Managers to communicate with internal stakeholders and provide support to ensure National Grid delivers against service level agreements.
-Processes financial reconciliations and provides feedback to Process & Analytics in order to ensure accurate reporting.
-Ensures the accuracy and validity of manual entries prepared by the clerical staff for CWIP.
-Coordinate with the Manager, Process & Analytics to ensure journal entries are entered for month-end close and reporting purposes.
-Support the clerical staff in the review of work orders and Automatic Review for Closing (ARC) errors/ utilization errors with the ability to troubleshoot errors and apply corrections.
-Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling, and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner and individual professional growth is developed.
-Exercise independent judgment in managing daily operations and resolving issues while remaining accountable for all actions to next-level management.
-Ensures proper support to meet business requirements of financial and non-financial controls.
-Manages Month End close activities within PowerPlan.
-Responsible for PowerPlan table maintenance including managing system updates to PowerPlan
What You'll Need

-US GAAP policy and procedures
-Sarbanes-Oxley policy and procedures
-FERC policy and procedures a plus
-IFRS policy and procedures
-Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Preferred in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, minimum of 7 years of progressive work experience in a fixed asset accounting environment
-Possesses a solid understanding of federal, state and municipal utility regulations and policies
-Knowledge of general ledger platforms
-Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications
-Knowledge and/or exposure to Maximo, STORMS, SAP and other work management systems
-Knowledge and/or experience using PowerPlan
-Prior experience managing a team with the ability to build effective working relationships while providing support
-Demonstrated ability to implement new processes, technologies, and operating models and lead a team from training to implementation
-Able to assess business issues, define the process, and develop resolutions
-Possesses above average analytical skills and organizational management skills
-Possesses good interpersonal skills and team working capabilities

Annual Salary
$153,000-$180,000
