Lecturer - Health Sciences FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a lecturer position in the Department of Health Sciences, to begin in Fall 2025. This is a full-time position leading to a certificate of continuous employment. The Department of Health Sciences offers an associate degree (AS) in Health Science, a Baccalaureate (BS) in Health Services Administration and a baccalaureate (BS) in Healthcare Policy and Management. The curriculum covers health safety, health dynamics, health policy and management principles, health law and compliance, health care financing and accounting, health management and information systems, health research methods, and medical metrics. In addition to teaching, using both in-person and online modalities, the Lecturer is expected to engage in program and curriculum development, assessment, and department, college, university, and community projects. The position requires a commitment to teaching, academic advisement, and sustained service to the department and college. Continued professional growth in the field is expected. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Health Sciences, the Lecturer will be expected to: Teach courses in the diverse offerings of the Department of Health Sciences. Work collaboratively on department level efforts, playing an active role in the creation, development, and assessment of new curricula and pedagogy. Participate actively in Department/College/University-wide initiatives. Provide student advisement and guidance. Ability to work a flexible schedule is expected, as day, evening, and weekend teaching and departmental duties may be required. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master?s degree or higher in Health Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or a related clinical field. A minimum of 5 years employment post-master?s in the health care industry is strongly preferred. Prior higher education teaching experience, with exposure to online course delivery and learning management systems (e.g., Brightspace), as well as evidence of scholarly publications and/or grant awards, is highly desirable. COMPENSATION $69,983 - $88,998. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
