Executive Director Alumni and Career Engagement POSITION DETAILS Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Brooklyn College, the Executive Director for Alumni and Career Engagement (ED) provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Magner Career Center. Chief among these priorities is implementing increased coordination between these administrative areas to expand alumni involvement in the career success of students and recent graduates. The ED will also provide guidance on all plans activities in both areas and oversee the administration of goal setting, budgets and resources, and overall management. In addition, the ED will serve on the Institutional Advancement leadership team and work with other division leaders to implement strategic collaborations that supports college priorities, advancement goals, and student success needs. The Executive Director's duties include but are not limited to: Provide vision and oversight for career programs and to all programs that deepen alumni engagement with Brooklyn College. Create new opportunities to expand career support programs and services to all Brooklyn College students and alumni. Serve as an ex-officio director on Brooklyn College Alumni Association and provide guidance and assistance in the coordination of board activities and events. Expand the active participation of alumni through professional and affinity groups and regional chapters. Work in close collaboration with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and the Brooklyn College Foundation to expand alumni giving, including annual fund participation, giving societies, class gifts, and giving day campaigns. Assist in the identification and cultivation of alumni leaders for membership in special advisory councils, the Brooklyn College Alumni Association board, and the Brooklyn College Foundation board of trustees. Work in collaboration with the Brooklyn College Foundation to development comprehensive engagement strategies for companies that may employ Brooklyn College students and alumni. Coordinate with the Office of Marketing and Communications to develop a portfolio of alumni communications, including e-newsletters, emails and text messages, social media, and print materials. Collaborate with deans and other academic leaders to engage alumni participation in relevant academic programs, events, and special initiatives. Contribute to the maintenance of the alumni data, including campaigns to reengage lost alumni. Perform related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Preferred Qualifications At least ten years? experience in higher education career development and/or alumni engagement, or equivalent. Experience organizing and promoting events for diverse constituencies. A track record of success in collaborative fundraising, donor cultivation, and stewardship. Demonstrated success leading and motivating a team of professional to achieve strategic goals. Experience working closely with industry leaders, board members, donors, alumni, volunteers, faculty, and students. An ability to manage office budgets, operational plans, and databases. A deep commitment to career development, mentoring, and expanding access to higher education. Strong communications skills. Availability to travel and work evenings and weekends, as needed. A master?s degree is preferred.
