Development Director (HEO) - 400560 Job ID 28322 Location Kingsborough Community College Full/Part Time Regular/Temporary Regular Add to My Favorite Jobs POSITION DETAILS Campus-specific Information and duties: Kingsborough Community College seeks an experienced fundraising and development professional to serve as the Director of Fundraising, Development and Alumni who will report directly to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of fundraising activities and alumni affairs on behalf of the College and its Foundation. Spearhead the college?s fundraising, and partnership opportunities. Monitor and objectively evaluate all College fundraising appeals; develops standard activity and progress reports for monitoring and evaluation; and provides progress reports on a regular basis to key stakeholders. Leads in the development and execution of solicitation strategies. Serve as the lead liaison to department of workforce development, department, they will establish strategic plan for maximizing partnerships to target fundraising needs and goals. Responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy by identifying prospects and implementing method of cultivation and solicitation of gifts, sponsorships, grants, etc. Designs, implements, and manages a comprehensive and measurable development fundraising plan aligned with the vision, mission and goals of the College and Foundation Serve as lead prospect researcher with a focus on growing donor base based on the strategic plan of the college Practices sound fiscal responsibility including budget development and management. - Provides performance evaluations for individuals under supervision and performance feedback for other collaborating teammates. Manages all solicitation processes: proposal request amounts; writing and development of campaign print and electronic collateral materials; prospect lists and research; monitoring staff and volunteer assignments. Implements a thorough donor acknowledgement and stewardship system and maintains consistent contact with major donors. Provides training and prepares stakeholders for fundraising and development engagement. Collaborates with Foundation Board in the identification, recommendation and assessment of board members Establish performance measures, monitor results, and evaluate the efficacy of the fundraising events. Manages alumni cultivation, fundraising and development strategies. Maintains accountability and ensure compliance with all regulations and laws, as well as the code of ethics for fundraising professionals. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required. Campus-specific qualifications: The successful candidate will be a proven development professional who believes in the mission of Kingsborough Community College, is results and people-oriented, possesses a strong work ethic, and pays superb attention to detail. The Director must have proven communication skills and be capable of writing and speaking persuasively about the role of educational philanthropy as well as funding community development. The following qualifications are preferred: Minimum 5 years of experience in a college/university setting, nonprofit organization, or the private sector related to fundraising. Proven track record of fundraising with at least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in development. Experienced prospect researcher. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge fundraising software. Strong self-starter and self-organizer; demonstrated history of building programs from scratch; can translate ideas and vision into real programs and products Works well under uncertainty and seeks opportunities to try and learn; willing to experiment, take risks, and is not afraid of failure; constantly seeks feedback and uses feedback to improve Can demonstrate experience with leadership skills, overseeing staff and attention to detail Proven and demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts of $25,000 and above Availability to work in the field and travel as needed; some evening and weekend hours CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Directs College's fundraising strategy and administration of fund-raising programs.
