About the role
The overall aim of the role is to protect the value of the NGV US businesses by ensuring the integrity of the reporting and control environment is maintained. The role will entail collaboration with a wide range of finance and business stakeholders to ensure adequate insight is available to the business leads.
The role encompasses the delivery of timely, accurate, and complete reporting along with ensuring that appropriate business forecasting is undertaken.
What you'll do
Be accountable for completeness, integrity and accuracy of the financial statements for NGV US operating companies.
Produce accurate analysis, reporting and narrative to explain results of the financial statements to internal and external audiences.
Complete Financial close process, including consolidation of NGV US
Lead 4-7 direct reports
Provide a bridge and overview between the financial and managerial financial statements and develop a top-down view of performance.
Review and challenge budgets and provide input in terms of risks and opportunities for delivery.
Develop the linkages between the regulatory requirements, financial plans, managerial performance and statutory reporting (US GAAP and IFRS).
Advise on the accounting implications and requirements for new complex transactions (e.g. regulatory regimes, insurance claims, partner cost share agreements, commercial disputes, joint venture arrangements etc.).
Be the prime relationship point for group/local audit and tax relationships.
Maintain overall supervision of the control environment within the NGV US finance function, ensuring that risk and controls recommendations are implemented.
Maintain close liaison with other Centers of Expertise, developing business knowledge and technical acumen.
Continuous improvement across all processes responsible for
- Technical or Specialist skills • Strong excel and presentation skills.• Financial accounting standard and controls knowledge – US GAAP and IFRS.• Knowledge of SAP an advantage.• Experience in energy/renewables an advantage.
What you'll need
Success managing a team in a large organisation.
Track record of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience influencing and managing indirectly through matrix structures and dotted reporting lines.
Strong planning and forecasting experience including complex modelling.
To be a Fully Qualified Accountant (CPA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with considerable post qualification experience.
