Associate Registrar for Courses and Curriculum (71101) Location: Brooklyn, NY Description: The Associate Registrar for Courses and Curriculum is a self-assured, congenial, and productive member of the Registrar Leadership Team. The person in this position is primarily responsible for maintaining degree and minor requirement specifications, the inventory of available courses, and the maintenance of transfer course equivalencies. The person in this position also provides leadership and supervision for issues related to articulation agreements, transfer of credits, and transfer services. They will also oversee the evaluation of international courses, portfolio credits, and experiential learning credits based on departmental recommendations. Will supervise and serve as leader for the Assistant Registrars and support staff who are assigned to these functions. The person in this position oversees the configuration and continuous improvement of the systems that support curriculum related functions, including degree audit and the electronic catalog. They also collaborate closely with academic departments, Admissions, the Provost's Office and other stakeholders in the campus community to ensure efficient workflow and updates to degree requirements and curricular content. The Associate Registrar for Courses and Curriculum is a member of the Registrar's office leadership team, and works with minimal supervision as well as wide latitude for independent judgment and action. This is one of two leadership positions that reports directly to the Registrar at this level. Position Duties: Systems Management Supervise and maintain the configuration of the Colleague degree audit system. Build and maintain the electronic catalog system, ensuring all information is current. Oversee the update and approval process of courses, programs, and minors in the coursedog management system. Oversee and maintain minor curricular requirements and liaise with the minor committee. Maintain all prerequisites, co requisites and other course requirements; ensure electronic controls are implemented to ensure proper registration. Oversee process of awarding transfer credits in student information system and entering test score equivalencies (CLEP, AP, IB, etc.) Maintain articulation tables in the student information system. Track and prepare reports dealing with the awarding of transfer credits. Coordination and Communication Coordinate with the Admissions Office in obtaining students' official transcripts for review. Coordinate with the School of Continuing and Professional Studies regarding curriculum, registration, and other Registrar issues. Communicate transfer equivalency evaluations with applicants, students, academic advisors, academic departments and Admissions. Serve as a resource to academic departments and advisors regarding the registration of incoming transfer students. Oversees the awarding of transfer credits within the Registrar's office; supervises the Assistant Registrar assigned to this role. Administrative Management Obtain course descriptions and college catalogs by web research and contacting other colleges and universities for the purpose of making an accurate course match. Responsible for the maintenance of articulation agreements and maintenance of course equivalencies. Assist with development and maintenance of related policy and procedural documentation. Perform all other related duties and seasonal projects as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred. Experience: Previous experience in a higher education setting with experience in a Registrars office or experience working with awarding of transfer credits and transfer credit evaluations. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Student Information Systems as well as building, executing and updating queries. Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and growth in order to improve individual competence and skills consistent with the Institute and professional standards. Professional integrity and the ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality in performance of job duties. Required Skills: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and set priorities to achieve goals/objectives. Excellent customer service skills. Technical skills and knowledge of computer desktop applications as well as Ellucian Colleague (or any comparable Student Information System). Experience with database systems and records management applications including building queries. Must have strong time, organizational, and project management skills. Other: Excellent verbal and written communications skills, demonstrated commitment to student centered services, with ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and administration. Ability to work well with a diverse population and the ability to work as a part of a team. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $74,800-$81,100. This position will be onsite 5 days a week.
