The college enrolls approximately 14,000 undergraduate and graduate students and includes 464 full-time faculty members. We seek a visionary Associate Dean for the Koppelman School of Business with a history of innovative program development and collaborative academic leadership. The Koppelman School of Business includes approximately 2,200undergraduate students, 300 graduate students, and 49 full-time faculty in Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Finance, and a dedicated group of adjunct instructors. The school is comprised of four academic departments that support a wide array of undergraduate and graduate programs, including BA in Economics, BBA in Business Administration (with 12 tracks), Finance, and Accounting, BS in Business Management, Information Systems, Public Accounting and Business Management, and Public Accounting and Finance, MS in Business Administration (with 7 areas of specialization), and MS in Accounting. Working collaboratively with the dean, faculty, students, and staff, the associate dean will help advance the goals of the school?s strategic plan. The primary responsibilities are in the following three areas: Coordinate all academic program related activities Manage class schedules with department chairs to ensure student-centric scheduling and maintain minimal section sizes across departments and faculty qualifications. Coordinate curricular changes and new course and program development with faculty and department chairs. Coordinate course transfers and articulation agreements with department chairs and feeder college administrators and advisors. Oversee AACSB Assurance of Learning and Accreditation Serve as Advisory for the Director of Assurance Learning program to ensure systematic data collection, record keeping, and continuous improvement. Serve as Coordinator of Accreditation to ensure systematic data collection, record keeping, and reporting on faculty qualification, program compliance, and other AACSB and Middle States Commission on Higher Education requirements. Supervise the KSB Advising Office Ensure proper staffing in the Advising Office to provide the best possible service to students. Coordinate with advising staff and faculty to assist students with academic issues. Additional responsibilities may include: serving as liaison between the Dean?s Office and KSB student clubs and organizations, and managing other unspecified/unanticipated activities and strategic initiatives the dean considers appropriate for the associate dean. QUALIFICATIONS This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. In addition, the school has the following required and preferred qualifications for the potential candidates: Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. or equivalent in an academic discipline represented in the Koppelman School of Business Record of outstanding teaching, scholarship, and service at the full-professor level in a discipline represented in the school Knowledge and experience in AACSB accreditation standards and continuous improvement processes Understanding and appreciation for liberal arts, science, humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary scholarship Extensive knowledge of best practices in higher education academic administration Demonstrated commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion Demonstrated ability to identify, address, and diffuse conflicts and problem-solving in workplace Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Collaborative management style Strong work ethic and orientation to academic service Preferred Experience in academic administration at a public institution Experience in grant writing for strategic initiatives or academic programs Experience in innovative academic program development, including online, hybrid, and other modalities CUNY TITLE Associate Dean COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $96,133 - $156,702; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
