Department: DevOps Application Campus: Rose Hill (RH) - Bronx Position Summary: Reporting to the Assistant Director of Core Applications, the Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in enhancing the IT infrastructure, primarily focusing on cloud-based application support for various stakeholders, including faculty, students, and alumni. They are responsible for the installation, integration, and maintenance of various software components and ensuring their seamless operation in cloud environments like Azure and Google. The analyst collaborates across teams, managing vendor relationships to optimize service delivery and mitigate risks. They maintain expertise in areas such as system administration, network security, and project management, contributing to the lifecycle management and architecture of systems. Additionally, the role involves developing and updating procedures, ensuring best practices, and providing critical support, including off-hours on-call responsibilities, to ensure continuous service availability and respond effectively to incidents or disaster recovery scenarios. This position may require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Essential Functions: Develops expertise in system engineering for Microsoft Windows or Linux systems and supports collaboration tools such as O365, Teams, SharePoint, and email security solutions like Proofpoint. Troubleshoots and resolves advanced issues escalated from the service desk within SLA guidelines, requiring in-depth systems and application knowledge. Provides guidance on business requirements, functional and process designs, prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures, including service levels and recovery objectives during service disruptions. Facilitates the integration of various software components, including databases, web services, application services, and data transformation tools. Ensures compliance with established processes and procedures related to infrastructure, design, configuration, and documentation, updating records as necessary. Promotes effective communication and collaboration within the team and with all client stakeholders to align IT solutions with business goals. Acts as a consultant within their areas of expertise, advising on best practices and innovative solutions. Embeds best practices in the planning and execution phases of IT projects, ensuring efficient and effective implementation and ongoing processes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years experience in system engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with Microsoft Windows or Linux systems and collaboration tools such as Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience in developing and maintaining procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance with established IT processes and best practices. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated understanding of Fordham's culture and environment, as well as the technical, business and cultural environment of higher education in general. Familiarity with teaching environment, curriculum development and processes. Strong skills in the following ITIL practices: change management, incident management, problem management, and service management. Strong skills in the performance and supervision of the following: Specific application of concepts within area of technical expertise Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills Independent management of own work flow and work outcomes Customer service Ability to interact professionally with staff, faculty and students, as well as interact and collaborate with vendors Minimum Salary: $66,720 Maximum Salary: $83,400
