POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES * Implement study protocols involving the DISCOVERY study (DISCOVERY of Risk Factors for Type 2 Diabetes in Youth Consortium); * Assist with managing databases of potentially eligible patients * Oversee screening and recruitment of participants * Perform data collection and quality control of study data; * Develop recruitment methods, oversee scheduling of participants for visit attendance * Develop and implement methods to track and follow-up with study participants; * Oversee questionnaires for completeness and accuracy; * Implement quality control procedures; * Oversee collection of biological samples (e.g., stool, blood, urine) and ambulatory devices (Continuous Glucose Monitoring - CGM) * Provide transportation arrangements and reimbursements to participants for expenses, time and travel involved in study participation. * Enters and maintains data in database, prepares routine and ad hoc reports including Quality * Assurance/Control reports). * Reviews data in various systems for quality assurance before reports are distributed to senior staff for review, prior to submission to the Coordinating Center. * Assist PI's with IRB approval issues, overseeing consenting, and preparation of data files reporting/progress report. * Assist with communications to the study Steering Committee, other study sites, central laboratory, and coordinating center * Assist the PI and project MD for the return of results * Assist the PI with community engagement activities * Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required * Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a team.* Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, RedCap, SAS or Stata.* Clinical Research experience preferred* Bilingual (Spanish) required * Experience working with pediatric populations preferred Skills and Competencies Must possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of MS Access. Familiarity with EPIC and Velos May use web based programs such as RedCap as assigned Must demonstrate good judgment, initiative and attention to detail Must be able to effectively track time and resources to prioritize own work assignments Must be able to work independently and produce quality work from conception to completion on assigned projects Must possess strong customer service, communication and organizational skills Minimum Salary Range USD $52,650.00/Yr. Maximum Salary Range USD $58,500.00/Yr. About Us The Department of Epidemiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a study coordinator to support the DISCOVERY, a new multicenter study funded by NIDDK to study the pathophysiology of youth onset type two diabetes. The position includes assisting with managing databases for recruitment, enrollment, data collection, coordinate with the Clinical Research Center and the Laboratory Core, coordinate study activities with the other study sites, laboratory, and coordinating center, and assist the PI in other project related activities.
