POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Office of Medical Education (OME) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine oversees the intersecting and cross-functional areas of curriculum development, innovation, and management; student assessment; tracking learner performance; the implementation, support, and evaluation of all courses, clerkships, acting internships, and electives; MD program evaluation; faculty and instructor training, compliance, and development; curriculum and assessment mapping; standardization of the learning management system; and is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the quality improvement processes, linking information gleaned from curriculum, student, course, and program evaluation and learner performance data with educational quality improvement and faculty development initiatives. The Becoming a Physician Course (BAP) is a longitudinal, 4-year clinical skills and professional identity formation curriculum at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The Program Manager of Clinical Experience is responsible for strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of the clinical experience component of the BAP course, including but not limited to managing relationships between clinical preceptors, clinical affiliates, and Einstein's BAP course. Clinical affiliates are broadly defined to include Einstein affiliated inpatient and outpatient clinical environments (e.g. Montefiore Health System, Jacobi and North Central Bronx hospitals) as well as clinical practices in the Bronx and surrounding local communities (including but not limited to Westchester County, Rockland County, and Queens County). The clinical experience coordinator will oversee the recruitment of clinical preceptors to participate in the program, oversee medical student placements at clinical sites organizations for the BAP course, and coordinate ELCP faculty/student groups to visit clinical sites for observed clinical skills teaching. The program manager will arrange and oversee transportation services to/from clinical facilities and manage the BAP course budget for transportation. The clinical experience coordinator will work closely with the BAP course director and BAP course theme leaders in the development of course content, preparation of the syllabus and session materials, communications with students, site leaders, and faculty/staff, and maintenance of the website, Canvas, and other interactive communications. List of Responsibilities : Manage the clinical experience components of the BAP course across the 18-month pre-clerkship curriculum and 5-week transition to clerkship. Recruit and maintain partnerships with individual clinical preceptors as well as their clinical practice sites which may be within Einstein clinical affiliates, and/or regional health systems in order to meet the BAP course objectives and provide clinical experience opportunities for students. Lead the orientation of clinical experience preceptors to their role(s) in the education of Einstein medical students in the clinical experience component of the BAP course, including its role in the overall integrated Einstein curriculum the syllabus, faculty and student responsibilities. Meet regularly with clinical preceptors and staff at clinical experience sites and perform periodic site visits to assess quality and perform continuous quality improvement to improve the preceptor and student educational experience. Manage affiliation agreements/contracts for clinical experiences between Einstein and clinical sites, e.g. memorandums of understanding. Manage and oversee the clinical experience site ranking and selection process for students. Serve as a central, on-site resource for all in-person, phone, and e-mail communications regarding BAP clinical experiences for medical students, preceptors, Einstein faculty, staff, and other community partners and health systems affiliates. Manage BAP clinical experience program budgets, including developing budget proposals, justifying, and monitoring expenditures. Recruit clinical preceptors for clinical experiences and manage Teaching Star documentation. Track student, clinical affiliate involvement in BAP clinical experiences. Organize and implement the clinical experiences site ranking/lottery and selection process for students. Organize clinical site visits for Einstein Learning Community Program (ELCP) faculty/student groups including coordinating with nursing unit leaders to identify appropriate patients for evaluation and dedicated space for discussion Assist the BAP Course Director with the development of course content, preparation of the syllabus and session materials, scheduling, and communications with students, site leaders, and faculty related to the course. Manage ongoing evaluation and continuous quality improvement of the BAP clinical experiences program to ensure benefit for the students. Promote diversity and inclusion in the curriculum, including opportunities for student exposure to varied practice settings, and with intentional recruitment of clinical preceptors. Collaborate with other organizational teams, including but not limited to the educational support services team, assessment evaluation quality improvement team. Assist the Course Director in meeting accreditation standards for the course. Uphold confidentiality of student and clinical site information. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelors degree in nursing, or Masters degree in nursing, public health, education, or social sciences. -Experience in program planning, implementation, management, and evaluation. -Experience in educational program management preferred. -Prior experience working in the Montefiore and/or Health and Hospitals Health System preferred. -3-5 years' experience in higher education administration preferred. Skills and Competencies: Effective and respectful oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team Strong leadership, resources development, and team-building skills Creative and resourceful in overcoming challenges and conflict resolution Excellent organizational and database/interactive management skills Experienced program planner and evaluator Timely follow up to all e-mail and phone correspondence Proficiency using Microsoft Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel Technical proficiency to be trained in use of online educational platforms and financial systems Familiarity with Qualtrics is useful, but not required Scope of Responsibility : The clinical experience manager is supervised by the Becoming a Physician Course Director and will interface with the course director, course theme leaders, administrative assistants in the BAP course, program manager in the Einstein Learning Communities Program (ELCP), faculty leaders in the ELCP, medical students, clinical and administrative personnel at our health systems affiliates, and other personnel involved in the educational curriculum for students in the Einstein community. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is listed below. Albert Einstein College of Medicine considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Minimum Salary Range USD $75,000.00/Yr. Maximum Salary Range USD $100,000.00/Yr.
