POSITION TITLE: Part-Time Assistant Coach - Recruiting and Business Operations DEPARTMENT: Athletics POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Cross-Country / Track & Field SALARY: $25,000 OVERVIEW: Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for a men?s ll recruiting and business operations. The successful candidate is responsible for all aspects in assisting a competitive NCAA Division I Men?s and Women?s Cross Country, Track and Field program to include, but not limited to team and staff competition and professional development travel; creating recruit visit itineraries; booking recruit travel; administrative tasks related to business and recruiting travel. Additional responsibilities may include coaching of meets and practices, assisting in development of championship teams while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Must be committed to and abide by the guidelines of the NCAA, MAAC, and Manhattan University Department of Intercollegiate Athletic policy and procedures and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units. Must demonstrate the ability to identify and recruit talented and qualified student-athletes and to market and promote the Manhattan University Cross Country, Track and Field program, exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes and staff. Proven record of being a team player and having the ability to support and assist other employees. Ability to contribute to a positive atmosphere for the program both internally and externally within the athletic department and University. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work directly with the Cross Country, Track and Field staff to organize, plan and execute all aspects of team and recruit operations and travel. Create recruit visit itineraries. Book recruit visit and team competition travel. Administrative tasks relating to team operations and recruiting. Assisting in the development of championship teams, while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Building and sustaining positive relationships with student-athletes, former players, faculty, alumni, and staff. Representing Manhattan University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school coaches, club coaches, and media. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor?s degree. At least 4 years of cross country, track and field coaching experience or comparable competitive athletic experience. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as needed. Possess a valid driver?s license. Ability to lift equipment on occasion and work in various environmental conditions.
