Department: OSP Office of Sponsored Programs Campus: Rose Hill (RH) - Bronx Position Summary: The Grants Officer develops relationships with faculty members to assist faculty with activities related to external funding. The position oversees the smooth processing of grant proposals, supports faculty in post-award grant administration, and serves as liaison between faculty and Finance office, HR, Accounts Payable and other administrative areas within the university. Essential Functions: Reviews and submits proposals in accordance with government and University policies and procedures Serves as liaison between the PI and funding agencies on various issues pertaining to proposals, awards, and/or budgets. Provides training to new PIs in grant administration Develops or reviews/edits budgets for submissions Assists PIs and their support staff with post-award grant management and reviews award budgets to ensure proper award set up Works in collaboration with Finance to manage awards throughout their life cycle Researches and identifies possible funding agencies Works with Institutional Giving (part of Development and University Relations) on proposals to private foundations or corporations When needed, assists with developing supporting sections of proposals such as budget justifications, facilities, biographical sketches and current and pending/other support documents Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; or in lieu of the degree, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience Minimum one year of experience in research or an academic environment Preferred Qualifications: Masters in Science, Business, or related field CRA Certification Active role in NCURA , SRAI or other professional societies Knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education. Minimum Salary: $75,000 Maximum Salary: $85,000
