Enrollment Bursar Specialist (HEa) -Lehman College POSITION DETAILS Reporting to the Bursar Manager, the Enrollment Bursar Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Runs outstanding balances report in CUNYfirst to facilitate the prompt billing and timely collection of payments due to the college for tuition and fees and third-party receivables. Create and process invoices for payments received from third party contracts, scholarships, and special programs. This will also include a familiarity with assigning students to TPC?s and posting waivers when necessary. Opens and closes the virtual cashiering office as needed; performs reconciliations at the closing of cashier sessions and prepares daily bank deposits, including the running of the General Ledger Interface process and Daily Cash Reports Assist with the processing and reconciliation of student refunds, credit card refund, and financial aid refunds, including chargebacks. Ensure that credit and debit card refunds comply with CUNY requirements. Runs daily queries to assist with the removal of Bursar holds and assist the office operation. Assist in the implementation and testing of CUNYfirst updates. Troubleshoot CUNYfirst issues with respect to system errors and creates Service Now tickets. Provide guidance to students, faculty, and staff on Bursar related inquiries whenever possible. Maintains policies, procedures and internal controls for the accounting and deposit of cash, check and other payments; Ensure Bursar operations comply with the CUNY Cash Accountability Policy. Manage the cashiering process, including tasks such as handling payments, processing voids and reversals, addressing escalated student inquiries, and overseeing all cashiering responsibilities. Assist with student delinquent accounts and submission to collection agency. Assist with posting and reconciling ACH, wire, and private loan payments to the student financial. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience are required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Peoplesoft/CUNYfirst. Previous accounting, finance, or business experience. Excellent excel skills. Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), problem solving, and organizational skills. Proficient with remote/virtual meeting and collaboration tools (Office 365, MS Teams, Zoom). Candidates must be willing to accommodate flexible schedules, including potential late-night office hours.
