POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Supports the development and implementation of proactive diversity, equity, equality, and inclusion initiatives for junior high school, high school and college students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare and health sciences professionals, assess outcomes. Develop and distribute a clearinghouse for scholarship information. Supports the efforts for training initiatives on cultural competency, anti-bias, racial diversity, gender differences, disability, sexual harassment, building a climate of equity and inclusion, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws for the medical students in collaboration with other members of the D&I team and the college's stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate should preferably: Be pursuing or have earned a degree in mathematics or science with an interest in pursuing a medical school degree. Demonstrated track record in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies that promote success for students and employees in higher education. Experience in organizing, facilitating and delivering content for professional and career development workshops. Demonstrated academic excellence with the willingness to teach mathematics, biology and life sciences, or physical sciences (chemistry or physics). Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong communication skills and the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and discretion, with demonstrated ability to build and steward relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. Experience with issues of race, sexuality, gender, disability, indigeneity, class, and the dynamics of difference, privilege, and power. Ability to lead cross-cultural groups (Inclusive mindset - Openness to difference). A willingness to learn about the medical school environment and the ability to navigate it. A willingness to learn about with learning theory, methodology and curriculum design. Numerical and analytical skills. Must have operating experience with various social media platforms such as Google, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, WhatsApp, Slack. The intern works on the ODE Team and is fully in-person. The position may require travel and weekend work. The direct supervisor is the Senior Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion. Minimum Salary Range USD $18.00/Hr. Maximum Salary Range USD $18.00/Hr. About Us Support the development and implementation of strategies to align Einstein College of Medicine's DEI Mission and Strategic Plan, bringing inclusion and diversity into the student communities and their academic initiatives. This position is responsible for collaboratively working with the Office of Diversity Enhancement on issues pertaining to diversity and inclusion, collaborating with the other Offices, faculty, staff, students, and external constituents to advance the Einstein School of Medicine D&I strategic plan.
